BMW India has introduced the groundbreaking BMW i7 M70 xDrive at Rs 2.50 Crores (ex-showroom) alongside the diesel variant of the all-new 2023 BMW 7 Series, known as the 740d M Sport at Rs 1.81 Crores(ex-showroom). The BMW 740d M Sport has its local production at the BMW Group Plant in Chennai, while the all-electric BMW i7 M70 xDrive is available as a completely built-up unit (CBU). Both of these exceptional vehicles are now accessible at all BMW India dealerships.

The exterior design of the new BMW 7 Series powerfully expresses its core product attributes and the accompanying in-car experience. The headlights are split into two sections. Positioned at the top are the daytime running lights, which feature the BMW Crystal Headlights. These lights, adorned with sparkling Swarovski crystals, reflect ambient light in a multifaceted manner, creating an impressive shimmering effect even when they’re not illuminated. Below these, you’ll find the LED headlights responsible for both high beam and low beam. Another notable feature is Iconic Glow kidney grille with illumination which contributes to its unmistakable appearance.

In the interior, the revolutionary cockpit design has its definition by the innovative BMW Interaction Bar. This backlit bar resembles a piece of crystal jewelry, seamlessly integrating air vents. Passengers can use this touch-enabled bar not only to adjust ambient lighting and air conditioning but also to modify its appearance.

Redefining comfort, the rear of the new BMW 7 Series introduces some other unique and innovative features. These are as follows:

  • A standout feature is the Rear Seat Entertainment Experience with the BMW Theatre Screen, a 31.3-inch touchscreen boasting 8K resolution that descends from the ceiling, transforming the car into a mobile home cinema while automatic window blinds and the panorama glass roof close.
  • Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System: It sets new standards in its segment with up to 36 speakers, including four integrated into the headliner, and an impressive 1,965-watt amplifier output, delivering exceptional sound quality.
  • Another highlight comes in the form of 5.5-inch smartphone-style touchscreen control panels on the rear doors.
  •  Automatic door opening and closing: One can activate the same with a simple touch on the door handles, the buttons on the BMW Interaction Bar, the rear door trim, or the car key.

  • BMW 740d: BMW’s unparalleled TwinPower Turbo technology, the diesel engine seamlessly combines maximum power with exceptional efficiency. This helps in providing quick responsiveness even at low engine speeds. The all-new BMW 740d M Sport features a three-liter six-cylinder diesel engine, delivering an impressive output of 210 kW (286 hp) and a maximum torque of 650 Nm in the range of 1,500 to 2,500 rpm. This car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 6.0 seconds and boasts a top speed of 250 km/h.

 

  • BMW i7 M70 X-Drive: The BMW i7 M70 xDrive benefits from an M-specific drive system configuration. It empowers the rear-axle motor to achieve unparalleled power density. The drive unit is designed with six phases and a dual inverter, resulting in a substantial increase in peak output that remains accessible even at high speeds. This configuration gives the BMW i7 M70 xDrive the distinctive power delivery characteristics found in M models. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in a remarkable 3.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h. This impressive performance is consists of impressive power output of 660 hp and an industry-leading maximum torque of 1100 Nm. Furthermore, the vehicle incorporates an extremely slim and high-voltage lithium-ion recyclable battery integrated into the floor. This boasts a net capacity of 101.7 kWh and offering an impressive range of up to 560 kilometers (WLTP). The BMW i7 M70 xDrive also includes a complimentary BMW Wallbox charger with installation. It has allowance for safe and convenient charging at home with a capacity of up to 22kW.

This instantly transforms the drive system’s M-typical performance characteristics into impressive acceleration without any loss of traction. Activated with the shift paddle on the left of the steering wheel, the M Sport Boost function is visualized by Performance-specific graphics in the instrument cluster. Simultaneously, the standard BMW IconicSounds Electric by Hans Zimmer delivers an appropriate acoustic accompaniment, switching to a particularly exhilarating, M Performance-specific note.
