Expanding Charging Infrastructure:

Currently, Ather Energy boasts 1,400 chargers spread across 100 cities in India. With the assistance of the Ather App, this network will expand rapidly, offering real-time information on charger availability to optimize charging sessions efficiently. The primary focus will be on establishing charging infrastructure in metropolitan areas and along intercity routes with high usage to cater to the needs of EV owners effectively.

Strategic Significance of the Collaboration:

The partnership between Ather Energy and BPCL holds immense strategic value in accelerating EV adoption in India. Leveraging BPCL’s extensive fuel station network will enable Ather Grid to be more accessible to customers across the country. By providing fast-charging solutions at BPCL locations, early EV adopters will gain confidence and convenience, encouraging a broader shift towards sustainable transportation.

Fulfilling India’s Green Vision:

Both Ather Energy and BPCL are aligned with India’s vision to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. BPCL’s commitment to converting 7,000 conventional Retail Outlets into Energy Stations reflects their dedication to sustainable initiatives. Recognizing that electric two-wheelers are leading the EV adoption drive, the introduction of charging infrastructure at BPCL Retail Outlets will play a vital role in supporting India’s clean energy transition.

Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer of Ather Energy, highlights the importance of robust charging infrastructure to drive EV adoption in India. The partnership with BPCL strengthens Ather’s mission, creating a widespread nationwide fast-charging network, making EV charging more accessible as adoption grows.
