Bengaluru, 15th May 2023: Ather Energy, a prominent electric scooter manufacturer in India, has achieved a significant milestone by installing its 100th Ather Grid Fast Charger in Bengaluru. The latest fast charging station was set up at Third Wave Coffee in Banashankari. This achievement solidifies Ather Energy’s position as the first original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to establish 100 fast charging stations in Bengaluru.
Ather Energy has been actively focusing on building a robust charging network alongside the production of electric two-wheelers. Presently, the company has successfully deployed over 1,300 charging stations across more than 85 cities, making it the largest fast-charging network for two-wheelers in India. Notably, The EV company initiated its charging infrastructure journey in Bengaluru and reaching the 100th milestone marks a significant step for the company. The strategically placed charging infrastructure ensures comprehensive coverage across all zones and areas in the city. Ather Grid has even expanded its reach to Nandi Hills, a popular weekend destination from Bengaluru, by installing four charging points along the route leading to the hills.
Ravneet Phokela, the Chief Business Officer of Ather Energy, expressed delight in achieving this milestone and emphasized the company’s commitment to strengthening the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem. Ather Energy aims to provide a seamless charging experience not only for its own community of scooter owners but also for the larger EV ecosystem. Bengaluru has emerged as a frontrunner in EV adoption and has played a vital role in bolstering the charging infrastructure ecosystem. Ather Energy extends its gratitude to utility providers, hosts, and businesses that have shown trust and support in establishing the presence of Ather Grid in Bengaluru.

Over time, the Ather Grid charging network in the city has facilitated a total charging time of 250,000 hours, with an average duration of 40 minutes per charging station. More than 13,000 unique scooters have been charged, and the top five frequently visited grid locations by Ather owners include Go, Native, Smarttron Automations, Fab Cafe, Infinitea, and The Chocolate Room.

Additionally, Ather Energy has collaborated with various brands to promote sustainable mobility, including BESCOM, Sangeetha Mobiles, Decathlon, Metro Cash and Carry, Third Wave Coffee Roasters, HPCL, Chai Point, and Prestige Group. With installations predominantly in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, the Ather Grid, designed and manufactured in India, stands as the most widespread fast-charging network for two-wheeler EVs in the country. Ather’s charging network features fast chargers capable of charging the Ather 450X scooter up to 80% in just 50 minutes.
Ather Energy has been expanding its reach to ensure convenient access to its flagship scooters. The company plans to install over 2,500 fast-charging grids by the end of 2023, aiming to foster range confidence and facilitate a hassle-free transition to EVs. Recently, Ather Energy introduced a new initiative called Ather Neighbourhood Charging, which enables access to charging stations in semi-public spaces such as corporate buildings, technology parks, and residential complexes. This initiative aims to make charging more accessible and convenient for consumers across various locations, inspiring their confidence in transitioning to electric mobility.
