It was billed as the world’s cheapest car and shaped like a jelly bean but after a bumpy 10-year ride in India, its manufacturing was stopped and discontinued for sale.

The Poor Man Car – Tata Nano was discontinued in 2018. Alto K10 was also removed from the market in 2019 as it did not receive the BS6 update. The Bajaj Qute which was priced at Rs 2.48 lakh was stopped because of safety norms. Hyundai also officially discontinued the Eon in India in 2019. These all were some of the cheapest cars which were removed because of Safety Concerns.

Maruti’s 2nd offering in the list of the cheapest cars in India is Maruti S-Presso. BS6-compliant petrol and CNG models, both of which are powered by the 1.0-litre K10B motor, which develops 68PS in petrol mode and 59PS in CNG mode. 

Looks-wise S-Presso looks like a jacked-up Altoit got bits like steering-mounted audio controls, a 7-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a digital display with MID.
