National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), collaborated with the Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers (ISIEINDIA). It is one of the leading organizations in India for EV skill development. It organized India’s First Solar Car Rally, ISIE-Electric Solar Vehicle Championship – ESVC3000.
The event was planned on the theme of the World Solar Challenge covering 350+ km in three days from Galgotias University, Greater Noida.
The solar vehicle championship created awareness and promoted the adoption of electric vehicles, upskilling, road safety, and the use of renewable energy. Over 1500 engineering graduates from more than 25 leading institutions and 18 states were upskilled in the event.
The students showcased their self-designed and manufactured solar vehicles in an on-road rally, covering over 350 km in three days, starting from Galgotias University, Greater Noida to Agra.
Vidyavardhini College of Engineering (Mumbai), Sinhgad College of Engineering (Pune), and Pimri Chinchwad College of Engineering (Pune) emerged as the winner, runner-up, and second runner-up of the challenge respectively.
The event established a significant impact in areas of electric vehicles through the rally, which provided a platform for students across India to learn and improve their skills in new technologies and renewable energy, promoting e-mobility and green energy.
The event was supported by sponsors and partners including, NSDC, Michelin India, Altair Engineering, Raw Pressery, EasyMyTrip, E Fill Electric, JS Design, Skill Reporter, Mobility Outlook, E Vehicle Info, Edgo carts, and Junofast.
ESVC3000 helped in creating a competitive environment among engineering institutions for providing quality education and students learned to practically implement their classroom concepts in creating highly durable, innovative solar electric vehicles.
As the rally passed through major cities, it created an impact and interest in electric mobility and helped in the adoption of e-vehicles.
