Hyundai i20 2023 Facelift

The third-generation Hyundai i20 is a popular hatchback model that was first introduced in 2020, and it’s not surprising that Hyundai is already giving it a facelift.

While there are no major changes in the new version, it’s good to know that Hyundai has made some improvements to keep the model fresh and appealing. It will be interesting to see how the Indian market reacts to the updated i20 when it is released later this year.

What’s New?

One of the most notable updates to the exterior of the car is the new positioning of the Hyundai logo on the front section of the bonnet. This unique touch adds to the car’s overall aesthetic appeal, and the refreshed bumper design and a blacked-out section on the rear bumper add a sporty touch to the car’s rear profile. The updated front grille and LED DRLs, as well as the new set of alloy wheels, are also sure to catch the eye of potential buyers.

Inside the cabin, the instrument cluster has been updated, with the option of a 10.25-inch digital instrument display. The infotainment system has also been updated, with the option of a 10.25-inch touchscreen display. These features provide a more modern and user-friendly experience for drivers and passengers.

Safety Update?

The 2023 Hyundai i20 facelift comes with several new and updated safety features, making it a safer car to drive on the road. The car now includes new Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features such as lane keep assist and an updated forward collision warning system. These features help drivers to stay alert and aware of their surroundings and to avoid potential collisions.

The i20 facelift also offers optional ADAS features including rear cross-traffic collision avoidance and blind spot collision avoidance, which provide an extra layer of safety for drivers. Additionally, the car offers the option of smart cruise control, which can adjust the vehicle’s speed based on navigation data, allowing for a more relaxed and stress-free driving experience.

New Color Options

The 2023 Hyundai i20 facelift not only comes with updated exterior and safety features but also with new colour options and refreshed interior elements. The addition of three new colour options – Lumen Grey Pearl, Meta Blue Pearl, and Lucid Lime Metallic – gives buyers more choices to suit their personal preferences. These new colours add to the already existing colour options such as Atlas White, Aurora Grey Pearl, Phantom Black Pearl, Dragon Red Pearl, and Mangrove Green Pearl. The option of a black roof is also available with some of these colour variants.

This powertrain includes the 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid technology, available in two different states of tune – 99bhp and 118bhp. Both engine variants will be offered with a choice of a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic or a six-speed manual transmission.

The 2023 Hyundai i20 facelift is expected to go on sale globally in the third quarter of this year, with an Indian launch likely to follow later in the year. The updated model is expected to come with a small premium over the current prices, which range from Rs 7.46 lakh to Rs 11.88 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Despite the potential price increase, the i20 facelift is expected to remain competitive in the Indian market, where it competes against popular hatchbacks such as the Maruti Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Tata Altroz, and Citroen C3. With its updated design, new features, and improved safety features, the i20 facelift is likely to be an attractive option for buyers looking for a practical, efficient, and safe hatchback.

Overall, the 2023 Hyundai i20 facelift looks to be a promising update to an already successful model, and is sure to attract attention from buyers in the highly competitive hatchback segment in India and around the world.
