The 2023 Hyundai Verna has been a blockbuster launch since it made its way to India. Indian market is full of SUVs but nothing can replace practical and crazy sedans. Hyundai showcased the Verna as a tech-loaded sedan that comes with a lot of features. Want to know about the driving of the Verna? Here We have a lot to tell about the driving experience of the Verna.

2023 Hyundai Verna Exterior

2023 Hyundai Verna
The front design is polarizing so it will take time to grow in minds of people

We will be very much honest about the design of the new Verna. It appears to be controversial but it will take time to grow in the minds of the people. The front design is not disappointing, but older designs were more stellar any day than new ones. We personally liked the older Verna for its fluidic design. Hyundai has evolved with designs, but it would have been great if they worked on creating cars with older design philosophies.  This model gets front parking sensors and a 360-degree that are placed on the front end of the Verna.

The alloy wheels look stylish on the Verna

You just keep looking at the car and it gives the feeling of inspiration from the Hyundai Elantra. Hyundai Verna doesn’t have a bad-looking side profile. The Verna looks even sportier in the turbo version. If there is something we liked in terms of design, then surely the side profile is just better than the front looks. That’s just a personal opinion otherwise New Verna is not at all a bad car.

2023 Hyundai Verna
The rear design is more appealing than the front design

The 2023 Hyundai Verna now gets connected taillights on offer that looks stunning on the sedan. Many will not agree that the rear profile is good but we still like the rear profile. It’s something better than the older Verna but still, it looks decent.

Interior of the new Verna

The interior of the Verna is futuristic in design

Those who have seen the Verna from the inside can comment very well on the premiums of the Verna. We completely agree that the Hyundai Verna is futuristic by design. The new Verna now comes with a 10.25-inches touchscreen that feels like butter on the operation. It also gets very sharp graphics that look very much better on the screen. Hyundai has made the addition of two-spoke steering in the Verna. The brand needs to also consider the N-line version of the Verna which could get some better cosmetics with some sportier looks. Those who love long journeys and are passionate about music will surely like the Bose System. My favorite audio system is personally Sony which Mahindra offers but Bose also has a wonderful sound quality.

Hyundai has improved the leg space in the Verna

Many people would be wondering about rear space in comparison to the older Verna. The answer is that the new Verna has better cabin space on offer than the older Verna. It doesn’t feel claustrophobic anymore in terms of rear space due to improved headroom and legroom. Hyundai has made the Verna so futuristic that we can’t stop commenting about the sedan. They also offer ADAS that works flawlessly well especially when it comes to Blind Spot monitoring system and lane keep assist. The interior quality also feels premium as per what Hyundai charges for the car.

Hyundai Verna Turbo DCT Review

The turbo takes its sweet time showing some performance

Hyundai has now ditched the older 1-litre turbo engine for the massive 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine.  DCT variant offers a smooth driving experience. The NVH levels are very well contained due to which the cabin remains silent. There is no unnecessary noise that would disturb the passengers due to the silent cabin. There is no doubt that the 1.5-litre turbocharged engine was just crazy in terms of driving. It takes its sweet time to make pace but performance kicks in after the turbo spools up in the Verna. Downshifting and upshifting were not an issue as the gearbox builds its pace very well. Could’nt find vibrations inside the cabin at high speed.

Is it an enthusiast’s delight?

We would rather say that it’s very fast but not very dynamic. There is surely no issue with the stability at higher speeds. The suspension is tuned in a way that it’s practical for Indian roads. It’s a perfect sedan for city travel as the steering wheels are very much lighter at lower speeds. Some more feel and feedback could have been appreciated from the steering wheel of the car. The Verna is more of a family car rather than a driver’s delight for the driving experience on offer. It has decent brakes that have great stopping power as per the city’s driving conditions.

Hyundai Verna Safety

Hyundai Verna gets 6-airbags as a standard feature

Global NCAP has not yet tested the Verna so it would be difficult to comment on its safety. Although, the Verna gets a lot of safety features and also Autonomous driver assistance systems for better safety. This time the new Verna can do better in terms of safety. The great thing is that 6-airbags are now standard across all the variants of the Verna.

Hoping that you can make a great buying decision after reading the review. Let us know in the comments what’s your opinion on the new Verna.
