The Maruti Suzuki Baleno emerged as the top-selling car in the Indian market for the month of September 2023. Additionally, the WagonR and Swift also secured positions within the list of the top 5 best-selling cars in the country during this period. Car Sales in September 2023
In the Indian market, SUVs hold a significant market share following hatchbacks, although hatchbacks continue to maintain their popularity, as evidenced by the overall sales numbers. Maruti Suzuki, for instance, managed to sell 18,714 units of its premium hatchback, the Baleno, in India. This achievement stands out despite a 5 percent decline in Baleno sales compared to September 2022. Following closely is the WagonR, the next best-seller, with 16,250 units sold in the Indian market, even though this represents a 19-percent decrease from September 2022.
The third position is claimed by the Tata Nexon, which recorded sales of 15,325 units, surpassing the sales of the Brezza, which stands in fourth place. These sales figures underscore the Tata Nexon’s ascendancy as the top-selling SUV in September 2023.
