One aspect that caught our attention is the side profile of the car. The MG Comet gives off a sense of being the younger sibling among its lineup counterparts. In India, where road conditions can be challenging and road width is often compromised, Morris Garages has ingeniously addressed this issue with the launch of this compact car. Upon assessing its dimensions, we find the Comet to be a model that boasts few flaws. Please note that these observations are purely subjective, and we encourage you to personally experience this model to form your own opinion, as we have no intention to promote any particular brand.
While some individuals may compare the taillights of the MG Comet to those of the older Maruti WagonR, we personally believe that the Comet possesses a remarkable design. In fact, we find its design to be vastly superior, exceeding the designs of certain manufacturers who currently sell cars in India. Our appreciation lies in the fact that the Comet offers a unique blend of aesthetics and functionality that is sure to be well-received.
Interior design of the car
Now, the part where most people will appreciate the Comet is the Interior design of the car. This model gets some of the notable features like a 10-inches touchscreen and also a fully digital instrument cluster. Just use the touchscreen for a while no doubt that it just works flawlessly well in the car. Morris Garages also offers some of the basic i-smart connectivity features inside the car with voice commands. It’s actually fun to use voice commands of the MG Comet to control day-to-day operations. The Air conditioning also works well inside the car due to which we were able to survive the extremely hot summers. For all the music enthusiasts out there, the MG Comet offers a truly fabulous audio experience that is sure to captivate your senses. The audio quality is exceptional, and we are confident that once you listen to the music in the Comet, you will wholeheartedly agree.
One aspect we unanimously agree upon is the generous rear space in the MG Comet, which provides ample room for young infants. Rest assured, if your family driver has an average height, the rear seat can comfortably accommodate an individual of average height. This observation is based on our personal experience sitting inside the car. However, we would describe the Comet as more of a perfect two-seater car with additional space available, allowing for added convenience or storage options.
First Drive Impressions of the Car
An undeniable advantage of electric cars is their ability to consistently deliver torque to the wheels, and the MG Comet excels in this aspect. While the model exhibits impressive speed, we wouldn’t necessarily label it as a high-performance vehicle due to its handling characteristics. It’s important to note that the Comet is not specifically designed for highway driving, and those considering long journeys should keep this in mind. During our test drive, we experienced both the comfort mode and the sport mode, as Morris Garages offers multiple drive modes to cater to various driving preferences. For an exhilarating city driving experience with enhanced performance from the electric motor, we highly recommend utilizing the sport mode. On the other hand, the comfort mode provides ample power for city driving, ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride.
The MG Comet is an ideal city car, prioritizing comfort over dynamic performance. It features a lighter steering wheel that offers a decent amount of feedback, particularly noticeable at lower speeds. When it comes to the ride quality, the Comet leans towards the softer side, providing a smooth and comfortable experience. While there may be some body roll, it is more pronounced at higher speeds, whereas the handling is commendable at lower speeds. Additionally, the car exhibits satisfactory stopping power for city speeds, further enhancing its suitability as a perfect city car.
Safety of the Comet

Global NCAP has not yet tested the Comet so we can’t comment on the safety of the car. This model otherwise gets dual airbags and ABS standard across all the variants including base and mid variant.
