New Cars 2021 So the New Year is almost around the corner! This year has been a lot to take. The COVID pandemic, protests, lockdowns, and whatnot! 

We are looking forward to a new year so we can start fresh.

Well, we come bearing good news for all of you. 

The next year more than 75 cars would be launched (nothing can be a lot).

The car manufacturers in India are all set with their new models, facelift versions, and new variants of cars.

While the new car launch in India 2020 gave us some good cars, we would much rather drive new cars.

So, without wasting your time, let’s have a look at some of these upcoming cars in 2021 (the January edition)

Jeep Compass Facelift:

Price Range: Rs. 17-18 lakhs 

Launch date: Jan 2021 

Jeep India is mostly working on a three-row SUV and an active study on a sub-four-meter SUV. But, the company is also working on the brand new facelifted Compass.

The Jeep Compass facelift is has received many updates like an updated fascia with a new grille, new headlamps, and a redesigned bumper. 

The interior of the model would receive a heavily revised dashboard. It would also get a large touch screen infotainment system with connected car technology.

Power train options on the Jeep Compass facelift will remain the same 1.4-litre petrol engine and 2.0-liter diesel engine. 

Transmission options would remain unchanged and include a six-speed manual unit as standard. A seven-speed DCT unit and a 9-speed automatic unit are offered on the petrol and diesel mills respectively.

Rolls-Royce New Ghost:

Price Range: ₹ 6.95 – 7.00 Crore 

Launch Date: Jan 2021

The model is testing in two variants, including Standard and Extended Wheelbase (EWB). The new Rolls Royce Ghost would be underpinned by the aluminum platform, which is the base for the phantom VIII and Cullinan. The new platform will also result in significant weight reduction.

The exterior will be updated and include a new set of headlamps and taillights and reworked front and rear bumpers. 

Details of the interior are unknown but, we can expect it to be inspired by the Cullinan SUV.

New Cars 2021 Features and Specifications

Power train options on the new-gen Rolls-Royce Ghost would be the same 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12 engine that currently produces 570bhp and 900Nm of torque and comes paired to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The on-offer could be an all-electric or Plug-In Hybrid variant.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class Facelift

Price Range: Rs. 60- 75 Lakhs

Launch Date: Jan 2021

The exterior of the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class would include a redesigned grille. The signature bumper design, new alloy wheels, and GLE inspired taillights would be a part.  

The interior would come with two 10.25-inch screens for the MBUX system and an optional 12.3-inch screen for the driver. There will also be a new steering wheel with capacitive touch controls. Safety features on the fifth-gen E-Class include a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, blind-spot assist, and automatic emergency braking.

The power train options on the new-gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class would have 7petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid variants. Power outputs for the PHEV models range from 154bhp to 326bhp and 429bhp for the AMG variant. It would also offer 6-cylinder engines with a 48V electric system. 

Mercedes-Benz New S-Class

Price Range: Rs. 1.40- 2.80 Crores

Launch Date: Jan 2021

Upcoming cars in 2021 would have afresh set of cosmetic and feature updates. Mercedes- Benz has also been teasing with the new S-Class on the ‘Meet Mercedes Digital’ online communications platform for sharing future products and business-related news.

The headlamps have gotten sleeker and, the grille has gotten big with horizontal louvres and chrome garnish around it. Overall, the sedan will retain the silhouette from the current model. The rear section would have wedge-shaped LED taillamps. 

The interior of the new S-Class would get a vertically oriented touch screen system. It would also get a new shape for the steering wheel. The climate control vents would feature a vertical orientation for better distribution. The dashboard and center console buttons would be considerably less. A large number of functions will be available on the touch screen system.

Features and Specifications 

The upcoming cars in India 2021 would offer a range of petrol engines in both petrol and hybrid guise. It might also get an electric version alongside at least one diesel-powered engine option.

Skoda Kodiaq Petrol BS6

Price Range: Rs.33-36 lakh

Launch Date: Jan 2021

Skoda Auto India would launch upcoming cars in India 2021.

The new Kodiaq would be petrol-powered. The model was previously available only with a diesel engine. But it was discontinued after the BS6 emission norms came into effect from 1 April.

New Cars 2021 Features and Specifications 

All-new Skoda Kodiaq petrol would be a 2.0-litre TSI engine that produces 187bhp and 320Nm of torque. This same engine powers the BS6 Skoda Superb. Transmission duties would get handled by a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. Also on offer will be a 4×4 system.

The features of Kodiaq petrol have not yet been released. But, we expect the model to offer the same kit that was offered in the outgoing variants that included Style, Scout, and L&K. The main rivals are the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, and the Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace.

New Cars 2021 Ford Mustang Facelift

Price Range: Rs. 75 – 76 Lakhs

Launch Date: Jan 2021

The new car launch in India in 2021 would make small changes to the exterior design. It would be to make the Mustang look almost new as compared to the older model. The sleeker, angular headlight unit, aggressive new grille, redesigned bumper, and a bulkier hood with new air-vents would give a much angrier look from the front.

The side and rear design would be broadly similar to the older model. Changes on the inside would include a refreshed dashboard design and new digital interface designs, including the option of an all-digital instrument cluster.

New Cars 2021 Features and Specifications

The new car launch in India 2021 would include 5five-litre V8 and would get more power and better fuel-efficiency.

There is an addition of port and direct fuel injection. The archaic 6-speed torque-converter has replaced a much better 10-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.

The ‘MagneRide’ adaptive dampers and active valve exhaust add the handling and sporty nature to the muscle car.

Honda New Jazz

Price Range: Rs. 8- 12 lakhs

Launch Date: Jan 2021

The fourth-gen Honda Jazz had already showcase at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. This new model would be better than a new car launch in India in 2020

The new model has grown in size and would base on a new design language. It debuts in the hybrid guise for the European market. The Jazz would go on sale in February 2020 in the Japanese and the European markets, and the ASEAN spec model would unveil later. It would be introduced in the Indian market sometime by the end of 2020. 

The new Jazz looks quirky and old-school with its bulbous headlamp shape. The front grille does not get its traditional Honda design of chrome slat. It features a body-coloured panel that joins the headlamps and a small recess below it. 

Another quirky design element is the C-pillar that drops down on the wrap-around tail lamps. The large tailgate has an MPV-like stance to it.

Features and Specifications

The details of the exact power figures have not been announced. But, we know now that the Fit hybrid would use a 2-motor setup similar to the CR-V. But, instead of the bigger 2.0-litre engine, the Jazz would be powered by either a 1.0-litre or a 1.5-litre petrol engine with lesser power and range.

Maruti Suzuki Wagon R EV

Price Range: Rs. 9- 10 Lakhs

Launch Date: Feb 2021

Maruti Suzuki had been testing the electric version of the Wagon R since 2018.

The Maruti Suzuki Futuro-E would get premium features like a SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

It would also have a multifunction steering wheel and automatic gearbox with a brake regeneration function. The vehicle would be a premium product offering in India. It would get an automatic climate control option. 

The exterior of the Futuro-E will get split headlamps and newly designed alloy wheels.

Features and Specifications

The Futuro-E would offer a fast charging option that can charge up to 80 percent in just 40minutes. The company would offer a driving range of up to 200kms. The new model would most likely be on the Heartect platform that underpins the current-gen ICE powered Wagon R.
