Royal Enfield an Indian Multinational Motorcycle manufacturing company with the tag of “The Oldest Motorcycle Brand in Continuous Production”. First produced in 1901, the Royal Enfield is the oldest motorcycle brand in the world still in production. Their Motorcycle is usually equipped with single – Cylinder and twin – cylinder engines. With numerous awards in their kitty, the Royal Enfield has come with a new model – Royal Enfield Meteor.

Royal Enfield introduced their all-new Meteor cruiser motorcycle in India in November 2020. The new Meteor replaces the Thunderbird 350 powered by a newly-developed engine and packs new connected features. 

The meteor traces its origins to the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 700 that was built during the 1950s until the early 1960s in the UK.

In competition, the Meteor 350 will compete with the Honda H’Ness CB 350, the Jawa, Jawa Forty-Two and the Benelli Imperiale 400.

The new Royal Enfield Meteor is designed by a newly-developed twin cradle frame and draws power from the all-new 349 cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, SOHC engine that develops 20.2 bhp at 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm of peak torque at 4,000 rpm.

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Variants

Royal Enfield is available in 3 variants, that are distinguished by their paint options and some other components. The Fireball variant is sold in two paint options – Fireball Yellow and Fireball Red. 

The Meteor 350 Stellar variant is available in three colours – Red Metallic, Black Matte, and Blue Metallic. The most premium version, the Supernova is listed with two paint options – Brown and Blue dual-tone paint schemes.

The new motor of Royal Enfield Meteor 350 replaces the traditional pushrod design of the older Royal Enfield engine with a primary balancer shaft with an overhead camshaft, allowing for higher revs and more refinement.

The engine is paired with a new 5-speed gearbox that offers more seamless gear shifts compared to the older models. It also gets a longer wheelbase than the Thunderbird 350 allowing for improved straight-line stability.

The suspension is carried out by 41 mm telescopic front forks with 130 mm of travel, and twin-tube shock absorbers with 6-step preload adjustability at the rear. 

Braking performance comes from a 300 mm front disc with twin-piston floating callipers and a 270 mm disc on the rear wheel with a single-piston calliper

The Royal Enfield are sold in global markets from Australia to North America, with the model produced at RE’s Chennai-based facility. 

The bike has been developed by the brand’s global team with inputs from the UK Technical Centre along with Royal Enfield’s India R&D Centre.

It will also come with a host of personalization options right from the factory with the new ‘Make It Your Own’ mobile app. This allows customers to add the accessories and colours, according to their liking, at the time of booking the motorcycle.

Meteor 350 is the first motorcycle from Royal Enfield which features a Tripper – Navigator, it is powered by Google maps and the app which connects smartphones with motorcycles through Bluetooth and they have provided a charging USB port also.
