TOP 3 BEST SELLERS OF MARCH 2023 FROM EACH OEM
The Indian automotive market consists of brands like Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Hyundai, KIA, Mercedes Benz, Audi BMW, and many others. Since March is the last month of FY 2022-2023 So let us see which are the top 3 best sellers from each OEM.

Maruti Suzuki:-
Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) manages to secure 3 out of the top 5 positions with their best seller in the segment. These are
- Maruti Suzuki Swift ( 28.89% YoY and -4.63% MoM )
- Maruti Suzuki Wagon R ( -29.75% YoY and 2.46% MoM )
- Maruti Suzuki Brezza ( 30.45% YoY and 2.79% MoM
The Swift showed positive growth in its sales but the Wsgon R recorded a degrowth by falling short of 7,329 units being sold in March 2022. Brezza secured the number 3 position with positive MoM and YoY growth rates.

TATA:-
Tata Motors recorded massive sales of 81k units being sold in the first month of the new calendar year but in February, it recorded a decline of 2k sales and achieved a 79k sales mark. In March, it recorded 44k units being sold.
It managed to secure the number 5 position in the top 10 list. Let us see which are the top-selling products from this Indian manufacturer.
- Tata Nexon ( 3.17% YoY and 6.14% MoM )
- Tata Punch (3.50% YoY and -2.46% MoM)
- Tata Tiago ( 84.06% YoY and -1.22% MoM)
All the 3 models from TATA Motors have a positive growth rate on a YoY basis, thus having a good number of sales but the massive growth has been shown by the Tiago as it is killing its competition by providing extremely strong built quality and comfort and now it is even available in the EV avatar, being the most affordable EV of the country.

Hyundai:-
Hyundai Motors India Limited recorded a decline in sales in February but still managed to score a position in the top 10 sales mark with its segment king, the Creta. This month in Let’s look at the top-selling product offered by the Korean manufacturer.
- Hyundai Creta ( 33.18 % YoY and 34.59% MoM )
- Hyundai Venue ( 8.72 % YoY and 0.27% MoM)
- Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS ( -3.95% YoY and -3.44% MoM)
All the 3 models from this OEM offer good comfort space and quality along with features. Though the competition is tough, Creta still manages to secure a good position in the SUV category. Recently, the Grand i10 Nios got an update, and the venue is a tough competition in the sub-4-meter SUV category.
- Mahindra:-
Mahindra is an Indian brand and has evolved drastically. The inclination of Indian customers toward this brand has been so much that it gives tough competition and long waiting periods. Its products have a waiting period of about 6-8 months and the most waiting period can be seen on the XUV 700 and the SCORPIO N. The top seller of Mahindra are:
- Mahindra Bolero ( 37.87% YoY and -2.41% MoM)
- Mahindra Scorpio( 44.99% YoY and 26.45% MoM)
- Mahindra XUV 300( 23.86 YoY and 34.63% MoM)
The Bolero had a little amount of degrowth on an MoM basis. Last month Thar was in the third position in terms of sales but this time we have the XUV 300 with positive MoM and YoY growth.

Toyota:-
In March 2023, Toyota sold about 18,670 units with an increase of about 8-9% YoY growth and about 22-23% MoM growth. Innova Hycross / Crysta and Hyryder which are available in Hybrid versions as well created a major demand in the Indian market.
- Toyota Innova Crysta + Hycross ( 2.00% YoY and 93.69% MoM)
- Toyota Hyryder ( 5.05% MoM)
- Toyota Glanza ( 12.65 YoY and -20.32% MoM)
The sales chart was topped by Innova Crysta + Hycross combined, selling about 8075 units in March 2023. The MoM growth is more than 90% which is a massive increase in the demand for Innova Hycross and crysta. The company has temporarily discontinued the bookings of the XZ and XZ(O) variants of the Hycross.
YoY sales of Toyota Glanza increased by 13 percent. However, sales fell as much as 20 percent from 4,223 units sold in Feb 2023.
