Volkswagen India has currently launched the Taigun Trail edition in the Indian market. This edition is something that the brand will sell in limited numbers.

The Trail edition of the SUV doesn’t introduce any significant mechanical changes compared to the standard GT version. Instead, it distinguishes itself through special decals and cosmetic alterations. Notable visual enhancements include black alloy wheels and red brake calipers, lending the SUV a sportier aesthetic, and appealing to those seeking a more dynamic appearance. Color options for the exterior include Carbon Steel Grey, Reflex Silver, and Candy White.

Inside, the Trail edition features distinctive seat upholstery with black fabric and eye-catching red stitching, along with the “Trail” branding. All the premium features found in the GT variant, such as the 10-inch touchscreen, TPMS, and wireless charging , are retained in this edition. Additionally, Volkswagen has added a dashcam, a useful feature for recording road footage.

There is only one engine option which is the 1.5-liter TSI petrol engine. This engine pumps out 150 BHP of power and 250 Nm of torque. Volkswagen will not offer the DSG transmission and instead one will only get to see the 6-speed manual transmission.

Pricing and Rivals

The Trail edition is priced at Rs 16.3 lakhs (ex-showroom, India) and sits below the Edge edition that sits below edge edition of the car.
